Lovely stuff. I remember taking my little niece to Lapland and the guides telling the excitable kids about the foxes tale/northern lights on the interminably long coach trip to Santaβs house, and I thought they were just making it up to give the kids something to look out for. Apparently not! Also β THE RUNNING CHICKEN NEBULA. If I learn nothing else from your Substack from now on, I will always be grateful for you giving me that.
Haha, thank you. I was like, ooh what if thereβs something up there for it to eat? And the universe provides with the Running Chicken Nebula! Both my mind, and the universe, clearly work in mysterious ways. π
This is awesome π¦
Thanks for reading βΊοΈ
Revontulet is just begging to be a name in my horror/fantasy!
This was so much fun to read AND I love foxes. Can't wait to read more of your work. :)
Ah glad you enjoyed it! Thanks for reading. βΊοΈ

The story of the Temussian Fox/Canis Minor reminds me of the phrase 'the quick brown fox jumps over the lazy dog'...
Oh yes, I had forgotten about that phrase. It contains every letter in the alphabet doesnβt it? Kind of magical in itself!
The giant Thebian man-eating fox is everything I want in a myth lol.
In response, my reflection on the Reynard tales: https://open.substack.com/pub/jacsongs/p/reynard-the-fox?r=hg5ep&utm_medium=ios
